Setup IP Addresses

This section allows you to add IP addresses to your server.


Your server must have at least one IP address, which will function as the primary IP address of your server. If you do not have an IP address, visitors cannot access your server.


If you do not wish to enter additional IP addresses, click Skip This Step and Use Default Settings to proceed to Step 4: Nameservers.

Add New IP Address(es)

To add IP addresses, perform the following steps:

  1. In the IP Address(es) to add text box, enter your server's IP addresses. 
    • Use CIDR notation to add multiple IP addresses simultaneously. Refer to the Quick CIDR Reference Table to the right of the interface for more information.
  2. In the Subnet Mask text box, enter the appropriate subnet mask for your range of IP addresses. This value defaults to
  3. Click Add Ip(s) to continue to Step 4: Nameservers.

Current IP Addresses

The Current IP Addresses table displays the following information and options for any IP addresses that are already configured for your server:

IPThe IP address, and any notes about that address (for example, [Main Address]).
InterfaceThe name of the networking or Ethernet device for that IP address (for example, eth0).

This column indicates whether the IP address is currently in use on your server.

ActionsIf the server is not currently in use, the Remove option will display. Click Remove to remove the IP address from your server.
