(Home >> DNS Functions >> Park a Domain)

Overview

A parked domain is a secondary domain that points to the user’s primary domain. When users access the parked domain's website, they will see the primary website instead. For example, cpanel.com is a parked domain that points to http://www.cpanel.net/, so when you access http://www.cpanel.com, you see the http://www.cpanel.net website.

Note

A parked domain name must be registered before visitors will be able to access it.

Create a parked domain

To add a parked domain, perform the following steps:

  1. Enter the name of the primary domain into the text box at the top of the interface, or select the domain from the menu.
  2. In the Domain to park text box, enter the domain name that you wish to park.
  3. Click Submit.

You can click Reset to erase the information that you select or enter in the text boxes.

If you do not want users to park domains on a specific protected domain, you can add the domain to the following file to protect it:

 /usr/local/cpanel/etc/commondomains
