For cPanel & WHM 11.44

Overview

cPanel & WHM ships with a large collection of third-party software that performs a wide variety of functions.

A large portion of this software is distributed under various open-source license agreements. cPanel includes copies of all applicable open-source licenses on your server, and ensures that source RPMs (SRPMs) are publicly available.

Note:

SourceGuardian Loader, ioncube, and Zend Optimizer are not open-source applications.

License information

You can find copies of all of the license agreements that apply to cPanel's third-party software in the /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/share/common-licenses directory on your server.

  • For example, the /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/share/common-licenses/LGPL-2 file is a copy of the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.

View RPM information

To view information about a particular third-party software, perform the following steps:

  1. Run the rpm -q cpanel-pixman-0.24.2-1.cp1136.i386 --info command.
    • Replace cpanel-pixman-0.24.2-1.cp1136.i386 with the RPM for which you wish to view information.
  2. Information about the selected RPM will display.

Note:

Some RPMs are distributed under multiple licenses. Because of this, you may see multiple License: entries. 

You can also find information about license and copyright information in the /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/share/RPM/copyright file, where RPM is the name of the RPM.

Find an SRPM

To find the SRPM for a specific third-party software, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/RPM/.
  2. Navigate to the directory for the version of cPanel & WHM for which the RPM was shipped.
  3. Navigate to the src/ directory. All SRPMs will be listed as .src.rpm files.

For example, the SRPM for pixman is available at http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/RPM/11.36/src/ as the cpanel-pixman-0.24.2-1.cp1136.src.rpm file.
