Overview

To modify the settings for a new account, select the options that you wish to apply to the account.

Important:

To access all of the options listed below, you must select Select Options Manually under the Package heading.

Setting

OptionDescription
Dedicated IP

Assigns the new account a static IP address. If you want other accounts to share an IP address you must configure them to use the same IP address.

Note:

We strongly recommend this option for reseller accounts.

  • When you enable this option, the Select the IP Address appears. You can assign an IP address or allow the system to assign an IP address to the account with the Auto Assign option.
  • Unreserved IP addresses populate this menu. For more information about reserved IP addresses, read our Show Edit Reserved IPs documentation.

Important:

If you create a package with this option enabled, you cannot change this option later.

Shell AccessAllows the user access to the server through the command line interface.
CGI AccessAllows the new account to execute CGI scripts.
Digest Authentication for Web Disk

Enables Digest Authentication support for Web Disk access over a clear text or unencrypted connection.

Note:

  • You must select this option if your server uses a self-signed certificate.
  • Users with Windows Vista®, Windows® 7, and Windows® 8 operating systems require that you select this option.
cPanel Theme

Assigns the cPanel user account's theme.

Note:

You can select the default style for new accounts in WHM's Customization interface (WHM >> Home >> cPanel >> Customization). 

LocaleAssigns the new account's language.
Enable Apache SpamAssassin™

Enable or disable Apache SpamAssassin's Spam Filters on the new cPanel account.

Note:

You cannot modify this setting if you enable the Apache SpamAssassin™: Forced Global ON setting in WHM's Exim Configuration Manager interface (WHM >> Home >> Service Configuration >> Exim Configuration Manager).

Enable Spam Box

Enable or disable spam box filtering for on the new cPanel account.

Note:

  • The system delivers spam messages to the account's inbox when you disable this setting.
  • You must enable Apache SpamAssassin to use this feature.
