Overview

Mod Bandwidth is a third-party module for Apache that provides bandwidth limitation options in addition to the options available in WHM.

Notes:

  • For more information on the options that WHM includes to limit bandwidth, view our Limit Bandwidth Usage documentation.
  • This module is also known by the following names:
    • mod_bw
    • Bandwidth Mod
    • bw_mod

Usage

Use Mod Bandwidth to limit bandwidth rates for specific VirtualHosts. Mod Bandwidth uses the /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/setbwlimit script to modify bandwidth limits.

EasyApache 3 does not support new installations of Tomcat.

How to install or uninstall Mod Bandwidth

The EasyApache profiles do not provide the Mod Bandwidth Apache module by default.

To install or uninstall the Mod Bandwidth Apache module, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to WHM's EasyApache 3 interface (Home >> Software >> EasyApache 3).

    Note:

    To access EasyApache from the command line interface, run the /scripts/easyapache script as the root user.

  2. Select the profile that you wish to modify.

  3. Click the gear icon () that corresponds to your selection.

  4. Click Next Step in the Apache Version stage.
  5. Click Next Step in the PHP Version stage.
  6. Perform one of the following actions in the Short Options List stage:
    • To install the Mod Bandwidth Apache module, select Mod Bandwidth
    • To uninstall the Mod Bandwidth Apache module, deselect Mod Bandwidth
  7. Click Save and Build.

How to enable or disable the module in a custom EasyApache profile file

The following table contains the module information that EasyApache stores in the profile file for the module:

To enable or disable the Mod Bandwidth Apache module in a custom EasyApache profile file, set the Cpanel : Easy : ModBandwidth profile entry to one of the following values:

  • 1 - This value enables the module in the profile.
  • 0 - This value disables the module in the profile.
