Set Up IP Addresses

This section allows you to add IP addresses to your server.

Warning
titleImportant:
Your server must have at least one IP address, which will function as the primary IP address of your server. If it does not have an IP address, visitors cannot access your server.

If you do not wish to enter additional IP addresses, click Skip this step and use my server's default settings to proceed to Step 4: Nameservers.

Add New IP Addresses

To add IP addresses, perform the following steps:

  1. In the IP Addresses to Add text box, enter your server's IP addresses.

    Use CIDR notation to add multiple IP addresses simultaneously. For more information, refer to the CIDR Reference Table section to the right of the interface.


  2. In the Subnet Mask text box, enter the appropriate subnet mask for your range of IP addresses.

    This value defaults to 255.255.255.0.


  3. Check to ensure that the displayed Network or Ethernet Device is correct (for example, eth0).

  4. Click Add to continue to Step 4: Nameservers .

Current IP Addresses

The Current IP Addresses table displays the following information and options for you server's currently-configured IP addresses.

InterfaceThe network device for that IP address (for example, eth0).
IP

The IP address.

If your server uses 1:1 NAT, the interface displays Local IP and Public IP columns instead of the IP column.


Notes

This column indicates, for example, whether the IP address is a shared IP address or is reserved.

ActionsIf the server is not currently in use, the Remove option appears. Click Remove to remove the IP address from your server.
